About Us
Unmask Tulare County was created by Marilyn Malloy as a way to connect community members and celebrate businesses who value personal freedom over fear-based COVID-19 mandates. The foundational principle of our group is the belief that every individual has the right to make their own informed healthcare decisions, and that right is not surrendered during a “pandemic.”
When California Department of Public Health (CDPH) mandated mask wearing as a condition of in-person school instruction, our group quickly embraced the idea that local advocacy creates a national impact. We began rallying at local County Supervisor and School Board meetings. We’ve been instrumental in the passage of various “local authority” resolutions, encouraging our elected officials to advocate for our ability to make COVID-19 policies locally.
As the concern about mask mandates gives way to the bigger issue of vaccine mandates, our focus remains steadfast in advocating for local authority and individual choice. We are working diligently to organize our communities to action through peaceful protest rallies, media campaigns and working with our local elected officials to influence public policy.
